Daniel Padim - Live Performance at the Acoustic Guitarist of the Year 2019

Hello everyone, I decided to make this post using a sound which I captured myself on the day of the contest that I believe depicts better the experience of the crowd on that day. Feel free to spread this video around, as it’s hard to see me playing live so it should be shown! It was a big trip from Brazil up to London, and I expect someday it to be paid out as everybody says it will. Hope they’re right. I also want to tell you a little bit about this song, what it represents in technical terms and where it’s positioned into the fingerstyle scene. Here are few technical aspects of the song “Milongerstyle“: 1) the song is strong and it envolves one very hard technique which is when you just come from a very wide, large and strong movement to a very accurate and smooth one. 2) Right hand harmonics all over the song while keeping complex rythms on the left hand. 3) This song mix fingerpicking and modern fingerstyle techniques. In the middle of the song I use the “Boom Tchick“ pattern on my right hand if you notice, but overall I play using some kind of modern style technique. 4) I did all that without losing sense of melody. Which is the most important thing that I could quote. Now, where Milongerstyle fits in the worldwide fingerstyle scenario: This song rescues all the strenght from a latin blood. People that even marginalized never loses their spirit to keep fighting. It also present the modern fingerstyle to a new rythm, Milonga, not explored yet on the fingerstyle scene. Milonga besides the rythm it’s also recognized by the augmented fifth followed by a fifth in the melody. Summing up, “Milongerstyle“ is not only a Milonga. It’s something that sometimes may looks like a Milonga, but it has a lot more influences that I can’t even describe here. If you want to take a better look into the song, please listen it on my album “LEGITIMATE“ which you’re gonna find at my website Tabs are also available at Video credits to music radar (Olly Curtis).
