48 Hours in Bacalar, Mexico covers the best things to do. Day 1 we travel to Los Rapidos which is just a short taxi ride from downtown Bacalar. Los Rapidos is located on the narrow channel that divides the lagoon of Bacalar with the lagoon of Xul-Ha. Day 2 we rent a sailing boat and take it out on Lake Bacalar for a full day of fun in the sun. Lake Bacalar is some of the bluest water we’ve ever seen. It’s known as the lagoon of seven colors and the Maldives of Mexico. Bacalar is a hidden oasis that’s not known to many but could easily be the next Cancun or Tulum! After 4 hours enjoying the sailing life we head to downtown Bacalar and check out the main square, and Fuerte De San Felipe.
