Collapse of the USSR - Raw Footage of Soviet Soldiers Receiving Food Aid (1991)

On 30 December 1991, ITN filmed soldiers of the former Soviet Union (now the Russian Federation) in the Russian city of Smolensk as they worked to unload a delivery of Western food aid. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) having become the Russian Federation only weeks before on 12 December 1991, the uniforms of the Russian soldiers still bore the old Soviet insignia.
