Hekseblad - The White Flame (video single, 2022)

It is our grim joy to present to you a new video single from cold, old school raw, Witcher-themed USBM band Hekseblad. Always a pleasure to feature this band’s releases on the channel, and this video is a real special one. Shot on vintage vhs camcorders for that true 90’s grain and tracking glitch finish, the nostalgic visual warping aides the eerie narrative of the film with a hallucinatory otherworldliness, and in homage to (black) metals of yore, the seriousness is spiked with a few tongue-in-cheek moments – besides the music being deadly serious all the way. “Just as the Fall of Cintra ended with the death of Queen Calanthe as the Nilfgaardian Horde sieged her kingdom The White Flame opens on the terror that the Nilfgaardian Emperor, the Vile Emhyr Var Emries, dealt upon the world.
