Piano playing California Dreamin’ - The Mamas & The Papas, words and music by M and J Phillips

For me, the way to play popular music and learn it fast is from lead sheets. I printed out this lead sheet today, added an intro and put in the flute solo myself. Did I hit every note in this performance, no. Was it good enough for my purpose of uploading here after only starting playing it today. Yes. Could I work on a more interesting arrangement? Yes, but sometimes if you want to play a lot of songs, you have to make sacrifices (unless you’re fantastic at playing on the fly as many improvisers are but I’m not one of them lol!). What will learn next? Probably another ABBA medley in D minor...
