This came after the first captives were released since the four-day ceasefire with Israel began, with 12 Thai hostages crossing the border to safety under a deal negotiated with Egypt. Despite this, the Israeli military warned civilians that the “war is not over” and will continue, with the ceasefire aimed at facilitating the exchange of Hamas hostages and Palestinian prisoners.
