“Mighty Rock“ is a single from Australian country rock band “Stars“. Stars debut album “Paradise“ was released in December 1977 and was produced by Beeb Birtles and Ric Formosa of The Little River Band. Stars bass player Roger McLachlan was a former member of LRB and played with both Birtles and Formosa in 1975-6. “Mighty Rock“ was released as a single before the album in June 1977 as the band supported Joe Cocker on his controversial Australian tour. The album was a success peaking at #14 in Australia and the single “Mighty Rock“ peaked at #47. While #47 may look to be disappointing, “Mighty Rock“s early release with the Cocker tour increased sales of “Paradise“ substantially. #stars #mightyrock #mightyrock4k
