Toretsk: The loss of the Tsentralnaya mine undermines the AFU’s defense in the city Significant changes in the operational situation are being recorded in the Toretsk section. Russian units have established control over the Tsentralnaya mine and adjacent slag heaps in the town of Toretsk (Dzerzhinsk). This is one of the key defense nodes that the Ukrainian army previously relied on in the area. After the loss of the mine, the AFU has been forced to regroup and hold positions in the areas west and northwest of the slag heaps. However, continued pressure from Russian units leads to significant losses in personnel and equipment of Ukrainian formations. Russian forces are trying to dislodge the remaining AFU forces from the occupied areas. Despite fierce resistance and active use of reserves by the enemy, the assault actions of Russian units continue with the use of artillery support and fire control over the lines of retreat.
