The Looper (1920)

Intertitle reads: “Looping the loop is quite an old stunt now - but have you ever seen a machine looping with a man standing on the top plane?“ (sic). c 1920 Stunt man stands on top wing of a biplane as it loops the loop several times - the plane is quite far from the camera so it is difficult to see him. Plane comes close to the camera as the pilot finishes his looping. L/S of plane flying past with stunt man hanging from the bottom wing (again, quite a long way from the camera.) Closer shot of the man hanging underneath. The stunt man leaves the plane by parachute. The camera follows him to the ground - he splashes down into a river. Intertitle reads: “And that night our Cameraman “looped the loop“ about a thousand times — in dreamland —— hanging on by his ears.“ Unfortunately we don’t see what was probably a funny shot of the cameraman - end missing. Was Pathe Pictorial item. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT’S FULL OF GREAT DO
