The day that we were recording drums, Maddie and Joanna we to the home of the most talented girls in the world April Bender and Katie Tucker, and they wrote the song. Other than that it was just kind of a jam on the original riff that turned into something really really epic. The only real direction I put the girls in for the melody was that it should sound like ’Clarity’ or ’Spectrum’ by Zed off of his album ’Clarity,’ which is one of my fav albums of all time. I also really was inspired to do some choppy vocals on this song by the DJ ’Flume’ and Ian’s DJ project ’Mallow.’ When we were writing the chorus chords I was just telling Maddie that they need to go up. And shes so awesome she just knew what I meant. And at the end, the key even goes up, and this song is about the sky. So it’ll really pick you up!
