Where previous Replicant records sulked in physical misery, “Infinite Mortality” is immolated upon an altar of spiritual torment. On this record, we naturally built upon the groundwork laid by “Malignant Reality” and combined heavy riffs with thick atmosphere and aggression. The songs represent a natural progression of the sound Replicant has previously explored, honing in on unorthodox structures and unnerving dissonance to forge a soul-mutilating experience. During the production, we intended for all the sonic elements to breathe and to create something organic yet assertive. Influenced by gnostic concepts, “Infinite Mortality” holds a commitment to heresy against existence within this bleak chaos realm. Life acts as a conveyor belt shepherding the spirit to a punishing, inevitable demise. Forever mortal and endlessly dying, numbing oneself to the thresholds of pain inflicted, until you are left with an ignorant decaying husk. In perpetual bondage, instinct drives man’s willingness to return for punishment and submit to the pain that life callously administers—keeping the flame barely flickering for the bare minimum of functionality within this cosmic machine.
