’Volturno’ on fire - shots on board Location of events unknown. Working-class passengers on an ocean liner. Looks like film of immigrants from southern Europe (?). This looks as if some disaster has happened. Ships; travel. Amenment September 2011: and many of the other seamen involved received bravery awards, some of which were presented by the King at St. James Palace on 29 June 1914. 134 of the 657 occupants of the Volturno lost there lives, many of these being emigrants from Eastern Europe on their way to start a new life in America.
