Indrani & Apurba Mukherjee (France) Erik Truffaz (trumpet), Malcolm Braff (Piano), Apurba Mukherjee (Tabla), Indrani Mukherjee (vocal Worldwide acclaimed jazz musician Erik Truffaz is known for his fascinating music that weds jazz music from the post-bebop era with contemporary styles of music like electronica, hip-hop and now Indian classical music. The polyrhythmic music that evolves out of this confluence is a florid polyphony. Truffaz says, “My spirit inspires me to compose and play jazz.“ Introduced into the world of music by his saxophone-playing dad, Truffaz started performing in his father’s band at the age of ten. Greatly inspired by Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, he set out to study music at the esteemed Geneva Conservatoire. He was awarded the Prix Special by France’s Jury du Concours National de la Defense in 1991. He has signed with EMI France and Blue Note
