Fighting Injustice - The Four Fathers

The Four Fathers’ live favourite ’Fighting Injustice’ recorded in its entirety at the legendary Birds Nest pub in Deptford on October 14, 2023, with sound man extraordinaire Jon Le Champignon doing justice to our anthem for permanent conscious resistance. Written by our lead singer Andy Worthington, the song has had several lyrical updates over the years, with Andy rewriting a verse to focus on the Tory government’s assault on the right to protest under Priti Patel, replaced in the lyrics by Suella Braverman when she took over as home secretary. A month after our gig, Braverman was sacked, but the Tory Party remains gripped by the poison of authoritarianism, most recently manifested via a proposed clampdown on alleged “extremism“, directed at those daring to voice their opposition to the government’s craven and corrupt support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
