Elizabeth Short died on January 15, 1947 at the age of 22yrs old, from a death no other should go through. She was found by a local woman named Betty Bersinger. Betty was the first person to telephone police. As police discovered Elizabeth’s body, they were horrified to find her gruesomely butchered in half, from the waist down, naked, and with slits from the corners of her mouth up to her ears giving her a joker-like smile.
