The Brutal Public Execution of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya by nazi Germans age 18 Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was a Soviet partisan and member of communist party. After Nazi Germany attack Soviet Union, Zoya volunteered for a partisan unit in October 1941. She succeeded in laying mines on the roads and cutting off the lines of communication. She was captured by nazi Germans and was stripped and beaten and marched her outside in the freezing cold. she was interrogated and tortured with 200 lashes and her body burnt, to get information about her members and leaders. The Next morning she was marched to the center of the village with a board around her neck that read ’Houseburner’. Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was publicly hanged on 29 November 1941 by the Nazi Germans at the age of 18. She was the first woman to posthumously awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union.
