Plural Nouns in English - Regular & Irregular Plurals
In this video, we explore how to form plural nouns in English. We cover:
- Regular nouns (Add -s to the end)
- Nouns ending in -s, -x, -z, -ch, or -sh (Add -es to the end)
- Nouns ending in -f/-fe (Change the -f/-fe to a v and add -es)
- Nouns ending in a CONSONANT y (Change the -y to -ies)
- Nouns ending in a CONSONANT o (Add -es to the end)
- Irregular plural nouns (These nouns do not end in -s/-es in their plural form)
- Words from Latin or Greek (Some of them retain their original plural forms)
- Nouns that remain the same in singular and plural form (e.g. sheep, deer)
- Nouns that exist only in the plural form (e.g. scissors, clothes)
