Weaving with pine needles - how to finish (“bind off“) the work

To see more videos on how to weave, and how to get a weave started - visit my channel. It is recommended to use pine needles of P. canarensis which are recognizable by having 3 needles per “spike”, and are long and sturdy and easy to work with. Soak for at least 5 hours before you use them. If you want to turn the flat surface into a bowl or basket, you work the same but coil it up as you go, while skipping a stitch once in a while, just like you would when crocheting a hat. To finish: cut the remaining ends in a diagonal form. Then, choose a preferably long pine needle to weave in the last finishing stitch. Notice that after the first stitch, you start weaving the pine needle backwards, meaning: exactly the opposite of how you weaved it until now, in order to keep with the same pattern and lock the weave into place. visit my store for hand made knitted goodies
