Russia claims Bakhmut gains as Ukraine says counteroffensive delayed due to lack of Western weapons

Russia’s Defence Ministry said Friday that that the Ukrainian forces undertook “offensive actions“ on the Soledar axis on Thursday “along the entire line of contact 95 kilometers long.“ The Russian forces repelled a total of 26 attacks carried out by over 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers; up to 40 tanks were involved, the Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in his regular update. He also claimed that 900 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the Donetsk region.
