How to Play Ducks in a Bucket, from Crab Fragment Labs

James Ernest of Crab Fragment Labs teaches Ducks in a Bucket, a simple press-your-luck dice game. Ducks in a Bucket requires five matching dice, plus one more that doesn’t match the others. The extra die is the “boss,“ and it determines which of the other dice you can promote into your final hand. Once you have made a hand, you may keep it, or re-roll and try to improve it. But if you continue, you must promote at least one more die or else you get nothing! Ducks in a Bucket was first published by Cheapass Games in conjunciton with artist John Kovalic. Now you can find it at Crab Fragment Labs. Note: One rule not mentioned in the video is that “ducks in the bucket“ (2s in the locked hand) become wild. This has always been an optional rule, though it is the rule that gives the game its name. You will find it in the complete rules via the links below.
