Biden and Putin to hold second phone call

US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold another phone call today - in what the US hopes will lead to a de-escalation of the build-up of Russian troops near Ukraine’s border. The Kremlin has confirmed the meeting has been set up at Putin’s request. The two leaders held a virtual meeting earlier on December 7 - where they agreed to restart diplomatic discussions - but little progress has been made towards ending the crisis.
