Yale Russian Chorus: Poidu l’ ya (Shall I Go Down into the Valley), traditional, arranged by Denis Mickiewicz. With rapid-fire wordplay and the teasing banter of young women this song invokes the spirit of dance and flirtation. The words and melody were provided by Father Alexey Burdin to Alexander Grechaninov (1864-1956), who arranged it and published it in his “Three Great-Russian Folk Songs () in 1917.
