Make a mistake? Paint the SAME scene AGAIN. Tips on how to avoid overworking your watercolors

How do you prevent muddy watercolors? How do you stop overworking a painting? How do you know when a painting is finished? There’s 2 paintings in this watercolor tutorial! The first painting gets seriously overworked. I wait 24 hours, then paint the same scene again, trying to learn from my mistakes.
