Alexander Scriabine plays Scriabine ~ Four Preludes & 17 ~ Roll recording 1908

In many ways these rolls are the definitive recordings of Scriabine’s Preludes. Made by the composer in 1908, they can show the nuances of his playing style. The greater number of recordings which he made were for Hupfeld. Whilst the Welte Mignon recordings are fairly well known, the former have remained largely unexplored and unheard even by all those pianists who have played and recorded Scriabin’s piano works - probably including Sofronitsky.
