Missouri man breaks Guinness World Record by paddling 1,299-pound pumpkin about 38 miles down river

Steve Kueny paddled in a giant home-grown pumpkin about 38 1/2 miles down the Missouri river on Monday. It weighed nearly 1,300 pounds. Kueny is part of a group called Paddle KC. The organization says this sets the new Guinness World Record for “longest ride by pumpkin boat.“ The organization is waiting for the paperwork to make it official. The previous Guinness World Record was held by a Nebraska man who last year paddled down the Missouri River 37 1/2 miles in an 846-pound pumpkin.
