The incident occurred at Midwest Performance Academy in Niles, Michigan last Saturday as tensions boiled over during play. Video of the incident was shared to social media, but neither the coach nor the victim have been publicly identified. It’s unclear whether the two men were known to one another, or whether the coach had the parent’s child playing on his team. In the video, stunned spectators can be heard gasping, before a child bursts into tears after witnessing the violent act. ’That guy’s a psychopath!’ one woman can be heard exclaiming as crowds rush over to try to restrain the coach.
