An USAF F 16 Fighter Jet crashes In South Korea #usaf

An F-16 crashed near Osan Air Base On 6th May 2023, an F-16 Fighting Falcon assigned to the 8th Fighter Wing crashed in an agricultural area near Osan Air Base in South Korea at about 9:45 a.m. The pilot safely ejected and was transported to the nearest medical facility. The pilot is in stable condition and no other injuries have been reported. The accident took place when the pilot was participating in a routine daytime training sortie. The cause of accident is yet not revealed and is under investigation. Osan Air base is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located 64 km (40 mi) south of Seoul. The base is also the headquarters of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) Operations Command. It is the most forward deployed permanently based wing in the US Air Force equipped with A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and nearly 48 F-16 Fighting Falcons. Accidents involving F-16 Today’s incident is the 1st F-16 accident of the year 2023. Since 1975, the F-16 has had a total of 384 Class A mishaps.
