Full title reads: “Edinburgh - Professional Pedestrians’ Mecca - Exciting finish to Powderhall Marathon and 130 yds. sprint.“ Edinburgh, Scotland. L/S athletes lined up on track in front of grandstand. The starting pistol is fired. The runners begin their race. The camera follows them around the track as the large field begins to spread out. Closer shot of one group of runners. As the camera follows the runners we can see a newsreel cameraman among the spectators in foreground. Different angle shot of the leaders. (There are three blank frames in the film here). One of the leaders is overtaken. (The sound track comes in at this point.) Loud applause greet the winner home. Two shot of athletes, after race. On the right is A. Skully (?) the winner of the marathon. The other runner is not identified. Footage of the 130 yards sprint - the racers run towards the camera. The winner celebrates his victory.
