Central Europe floods: Drone video shows Polish city under water after dam ruptures

Drone video captured the devastation in Poland’s city of Nysa after heaving flooding led to the breaching of a dam in Stronie Slaskie on Sunday. The Nysa Klodzka River overflowed into the historic city centre and nearby residential blocks, causing extensive damage. “I have survived three floods in my life but this one was the biggest one,“ said Darek Krzysztan, a resident of Ladek. More rivers in central Europe burst their banks on Monday and the number of deaths increased from the worst flooding in at least two decades, with some authorities starting to count the costs and others preparing for waters rising further. At least 15 people have died in flooding from Austria to Romania.
