A look at the carved oak ship prow in the Anglo-Saxon room of the British Museum, found in a Belgian river in 1934, long thought to be ’Viking’, but on carbon dating, was found to be previous to that era. Now it is relatively obscure - this is a modest attempt to celebrate its ferocious energy.
