GAME RECAP: Penguins at Canadiens () | Back and Forth Battle

Pittsburgh headed to Montreal to wrap up their three-game road trip against the Canadiens. Montreal jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period of play thanks to a goal from Josh Anderson. The Penguins would answer back in the second as Jeff Petry found the back of the net against his former squad while Rickard Rakell followed up with a goal of his own to put Pittsburgh up 2-1. The third period of play was filled with action from both sides. Evgeni Malkin and Brock McGinn would score for the Penguins while Montreal got the puck past Jarry three times (Caufield, Suzuki, Monahan) to force overtime. The Penguins had a few chances in the extra period but the Canadiens were able to hold them off and go on to win this one by a score of 5-4 thanks to the game-winning goal from Mike Hoffman.
