How to render and use an AO (ambient occlusion) in V Ray with 3DS Max and Photoshop

In the video I forgot to go over what an ambient occlusion actually is, lol. ’Ambient’ means the immediate surroundings of something and ’occlusion’ means the blockage of something. Ambient light would be the light immediately surrounding something and ambient occlusion is the blockage of that light. So, light for example would often be less in the corners of a room, under furniture, etc. The purpose of the tutorial is to show you how to render out an Ambient Occlusion (AO) pass and how you can use it to add some more realism or more contrast in post production. This is often used to just add a slight emphasis to an image, but can make quite a difference. In the office we also use it in animations. I’ve found it’s one of those simple things to add, but you need to know how to do it. :)
