Piece of Jesus’ Cross Will Be at King Charles’ Coronation

A ceremonial cross, believed to have fragments of the cross Jesus was crucified on, was blessed in Wales before it takes part in King Charles III’s coronation. In line with the new King’s sustainability efforts, this cross was made from recycled silver, Welsh slate and reclaimed wood. It was a 2020 gift from then-Prince Charles to the church in Wales. It will lead the coronation procession into Westminster Abbey containing a gift from the Vatican.
