Superb Pro Goalkeeper Shot Stopping and Deflections Session

Today we worked on shots through traffic with the added bonus of potential deflections on the way! Although this wasn’t a physically demanding session, the drills needed focus from the keepers in being able to read the strikers intentions (hips, angle of contact, etc), and they needed quick movements to adjust positioning based on the information that they perceived. These are always fun sessions, as keepers rarely get to shoot in training, and let’s face it, no goalkeeper wants to be scored on by another keeper, so the intensity and desire (as well as the frustration!) can get quite high!
