Israel pauses fighting in Southern Gaza to allow in aid

Israel has announced it will pause fighting along a route in southern Gaza during the daytime to allow more aid to enter the region. The tactical pause will apply to an area 12 kilometres long in the Rafah area. The decision has been strongly opposed by some far-right Israeli government ministers who have threatened to dismantle Benjamin Netanyahu’s government if he ends the war. They claim aid deliveries will delay Israel’s victory.
