Rubber Toys Aka Rubber Animals (1957)

Ashford, Middlesex. Rubber toys are manufactured and painted at a factory. C/U of a wire framework for a rabbit toy being made by twisting wire around a framework of metal pegs. C/U of woman preparing the latex mixture which will cover the wire frame. C/U of the wire framework being inserted into a mould. The rubber solution is poured into the mould. M/S of woman pulling rabbit toys out of moulds. She briefly checks them then throws them in a pile. A golliwog toy is held in a frame whilst its face is sprayed black. The narrator explains that the toys are earning valuable dollars for Britain and are exported to practically every country in the world. L/S of another part of the factory where “experienced girl artists“ paint details on the toys - eyes and feet etc. C/U of a mouse toy having his feet painted and a bunny having his bow tie painted.
