Doctor’s Hobbies (1957)

Royal Society of Health, London. Odd story about an exhibition of articles made by doctors. An illustration of the types of hobbies doctors have. A doctor (not named) demonstrates a telescope he has made himself. C/Us of various exhibits. These include model ships and a steam traction engine in a bottle. One large ship has been made of matchsticks - this was made at sea during the war by Doctor Henny (sp?). A model of the river tugboat Chieftain has been entered by Doctor Fletcher. Part of the tug is lifted off to show interior. Paintings and sculpture are also present. C/U of a modern wooden sculpture by Doctor Leask. A hand carved replica of a Stradivarius violin is also seen. Doctor Staunton demonstrates his model village which has moving figures. They are powered by cotton reels and other odds and ends.
