Ukraine war news: 21 August Moscow AFU used drones to attack Moscow. One drone was shot down by electronic warfare in Pokrovskoye, another was shot down by anti-aircraft defence in Istrinsky, two people injured by wreckage. Kaluga AFU launched a drone against Shaykovka airbase in Kaluga. The drone was intercepted over the territory of the installation: no damage or casualties were reported. Belgorod Belgorod was the target of an AFU drone attack. One of the drones launched shells on Novostroevka-Vtoraya, the other drones were neutralised by anti-aircraft defence. Starobelskoye In Kupyansk, fighting continues in Sinkivka and on the landings to the east. Although sources claim that the town has been liberated, part of it is still controlled by the AFU. Soledar In southern Bakhmut, the AFU attacked Russian positions near Andreevka. The attacker heading towards the railway embankment was located and destroyed by artillery attacks. Donetsk The AFU continue to use cluster munitions against the civilian population of Donbas. Residential buildings and infrastructure were targeted in Donetsk. One person was injured.
