S. Korea, U.S. holds 55th Security Consultative Meeting on Monday

오늘 한미안보협의회 개최 ’확장억제 실행력 강화’ 논의 annual Security Consultative Meeting --between Seoul and Washington’s defense chiefs --kicks off today in Seoul. Talks between South Korea’s defense minister Shin Won-sik and his U.S. counterpart Lloyd Austin will be focused on bolstering Washington’s extended deterrence, against North Korea’s evolving provocations. Also highly likely to be included in the discussions is the security cooperation between South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, as well as the transfer of wartime operational control from Washington to Seoul.
