Lincoln Child’s Skater of the Year showreel of ledge lordery and Melbourne street mayhem. Ben Lawrie, who’s known to his mates as ‘Lincoln Child’, made the most of a strange year in Melbourne, destroying a whole spread of the city’s most iconic spots. The young fella with the heavy ledge game has taken out Australian skateboarding’s most coveted award, becoming the Slam SOTY for 2021, presented by Converse Cons. LC spent countless hours in the streets, dodging the cops, skating spots and drinking copious amounts of coffee, putting together an incredible section in Nike’s “Welcome To Melbourne”, and stacking a bunch of extra footage later seen in Geoff Campbell’s “Dill Slinger”. He also managed to shoot a bunch of photos for an incredible feature interview in our Spring Edition. At that time, Melbourne was in a heavy lockdown and the rules for skateboarding weren’t exactly clear.
