Billy Joel - The Nylon Curtain [Full Album 1982] (Live)

This is easily my favorite Billy Joel Album of the 1980’s. It has the perfect combination of radio hits, outright rockers, soulful ballads, and artistic experiments. Billy always said that this was the album he took the longest to make and began “playing the studio like an instrument“ and I believe that all that time was well spent and definitely payed off. This was actually a very easy compilation to put together because this is one of the few Billy Joel albums where every song was played live at least a couple of times. Most of this album was quickly forgotten after the 1982 tour and the only songs played were Allentown, Pressure, and Goodnight Saigon; however, in more recent years, Billy has pulled out a lot of the back half of this album to perform and I think they sound great. I could have used the MTV Night School performance of Where’s The Orchestra, but I found a pretty rare full band performance from the original Nylon Curtain tour with Saxophone and Accordion, so I decided that it would be nice to s
