“During a night dive at San Clemente Island, I found a sea turtle. I began to record it from several feet away with my wide-angle video light on as it slowly swam away from my dive buddy and me. The turtle then turned to the right and showed me its profile and I shined my flashlight beam at it to get a better look. About 10 seconds later the sea turtle abruptly turned, swam quickly towards me, smacked into my camera and video light, and then swam off. I believe the sea turtle was disturbed by the lights and charged in response. This is a good reminder to be considerate with flashlights during night dives.“
