In a prerecorded message, delivered tonight during a virtual event at the Park East Synagogue’s annual ceremony in remembrance of the Holocaust, the Secretary-General said, “our response to ignorance must be education,” adding that “governments everywhere have a responsibility to teach about the horrors of the Holocaust.” The United Nations, he said, “is at the forefront of this crucial work,” including through its Holocaust Outreach Programme.
