They will all be uploaded to a new playlist: Valdai International Club 2023 over the next few days. This video includes Putin’s opening plenary address and discusses his idea for Russia’s role in a growing multipolar world in terms of contributing to collective peace and security. Among the topics addressed, Putin prioritizes the need for the end of global hegemony by any one state; which in this case is the United States, still, he claims, under the presumption its word is the same as international law and order. He also states that the war in Ukraine is not a war of territory, but a war of security. Putin also focuses on the topic of “civilizations“, which are broadly defined by key cultural, traditional, ideological, and behavioral differences from one another but can live in cooperation and even harmony if there is mutual respect and interdependence.
