In her talk, Sam Cohen speaks about the effects of social media on the mental health of people of all ages. She goes in depth about how easy it is for people to make their lives look more glamorous than they actually are, and how easy it is for social media users to become insecure. Sam is a mental health advocate, and this is her third talk about the topic. She works closely with ProjectUROK and in her town’s stigma-free mental health committee. Sam is a junior and is excited to give her second talk this year. She is an activist for mental health and helps with the youth council of the Child Mind Institute. She loves photography and hopes to travel more in the future with her camera. She’s been a huge comedy fan since she was a kid, and hopes her talk can inspire others.
