The band play a beautiful version of ’39 tonight, with their vocal harmonies in the middle section sounding absolutely perfect. Some of Brian’s riffing in the middle of Now I’m Here sounds a bit like the Stones’ Jumping Jack Flash. After the medley, most of which Freddie spends at the piano, he says, “OK, it’s about time I stood up.“ He then introduces It’s Late, and what ensues is one of the best performances of the song ever with everyone firing on all cylinders.
