The story goes that a Roman winemaker had built this castle in the 17th century on the territory of the commune, then entirely covered with vines. Practicing the wine trade, he brought his barrels down to the local port from where the boats departed, and so forth, generated a great fortune with his wine business. Decades passed, and the property was handed down from generation and generation within this eventual prestigious French family, with the name “Rousseau“.
