All Be Happy; A gothic autism story by Donna Williams

All Be Happy is one of the songs in the rock musical, Footsteps of a Nobody ( ) by Donna Williams and performed with The Aspinauts (you can see a clip from the show here ) People often imagine a person with autism doesn’t hear or understand the disappointment others have about them being ’different’. But over the years these comments become patterns, can feed into feelings which ultimately can produce disturbing behaviour and eventually become troubling, progressively conscious thoughts. This video is a pictorial journey told through photos and my art works and put to one of my songs, All Be Happy (from the CD album, Mutation). The song All Be Happy tells the two contrasting realities of the external world and my own internal emotional reality. The pictures featured are from my childhood pictures.
