Twelve people were arrested and eight police officers were injured in London’s Parliament Square, Friday, after a Bonfire Night rally involving hundreds of anti-establishment demonstrators turned violent. Fireworks and objects could be seen thrown at officers, with the Metropolitan Police saying demonstrators were “dangerously lighting fireworks and rockets.” An effigy of Boris Johnson could also be seen burning as protesters wearing Guy Fawkes-style masks had gathered for the annual Million Mask March to celebrate November 5 and protest against COVID restrictions.
