Basic Footwork and Entries
This video introduces all the basic (standard) aikido attacks that are encountered in our white belt test syllabus, and the footwork used to get off the line and blend with these attacks in a clear and consistent way.
The most important goal of this video is to show how different attacks can be met with the same footwork, and to help students gain a clear vision of the correct ura and omote angles for performing technique in a useful and consistent way.
The examples shown are currently how we want to see students at the Aikido Chuseikan dojo perform their techniques. They certainly aren’t the only footwork variations or angles one can use to perform elegant aikido technique.
